Banner ARRIVING HOME.jpg

Do you sense that children have boundless potential, and yearn to find a way to unlock it?

Would you like new ways to help your child learn something they are struggling with?

Are you a parent or professional with a sense that whatever you are doing could be more effective?

This practical and enriching workshop is for you.

Children have limitless potential to learn. Daily life presents us with countless opportunities to connect with this potential and to enable life-changing learning. The brain is key in managing all the things we do, whether that is the ability to concentrate, follow directions, self-regulate stress and emotions or specific skills like speech, writing or academics.

This workshop will give you specific ways that you can wake up your child’s brain to new levels of learning, through the things that you are already doing! You will learn how to infuse each learning opportunity with such potency that you no longer have to teach things over and over. Join us as we learn how to transform the learning of those around us and have it be just like ARRIVING HOME.

Dive into 6 powerful ways to help your child reach their potential:

  1. Start with yourself - How you can change what you are doing so that your child can be calmer and more attentive. Applying new discoveries from neuroscience about self-regulation to your life, now.

  2. Deeper connections - How to enrich your connection with your child and understand them more fully.

  3. Be curious, it opens possibilities - Learn the power of curiosity and wonder and discover ways you can inspire learning and make yourself and learning more compelling.

  4. Touch matters - Discover how your touch can help their brain wake up. Whether daily tasks (e.g. dressing, teeth brushing) or therapeutic interventions, our touch can be a powerful conduit for learning, or can switch off the learning process. Learn how to make touch work for you.

  5. Listen and transform - Discover how to listen so that your interactions are more successful and manifest greater cooperation and collaboration. Understand the different levels of listening and how you are using them either to your advantage or disadvantage in every interaction. Transform your ability to understand your child.

  6. Getting out of habitual reactions – Learn a simple yet profound tool to change our emotional reactions and transform what happens around us.

When you know what you are doing then you can do what you want
— Moshe Feldenkrais
Find out who you are, and do it on purpose
— Dolly Parton

This experiential, participatory workshop will run 10.00-17.00 each day. There will be opportunities to practice and get comfortable with how these ideas work in yourself and with those you are helping.

Taught by Sean Williams, this work draws from his 35 years of studying, exploring, developing and teaching this subject to clients, parents and professionals. Drawing on his experience as a parent, Senior HANDLE® Practitioner and Instructor, his Feldenkrais and NeuroMovement training and his Shiatsu practice, Sean has brought forward key learning and practices that revolutionise the benefits of helping others. He offers them here for the first time in workshop format. Join us. Start a revolution in learning.

Open to anyone, the workshop costs £250 (£450 for two participants) including lunch, or £225 (£420 for two participants) if booked before 10th June 2019. We have a special client rate and concessions based on financial need, please ask! Call us on 01273 558 545 or email sarah@seanwilliams.co.uk.

The venue is Brighton Learning House, 20 Northfield Way BN1 8EH.

Please note this workshop is now fully booked. Bookings will be OPENING SOON for the November class! If you’d like to be notified of this you can join our mailing list here.

The optional follow-up weekend Embodied Empowerment Series: GOING PLACES will go deeper into the practice and application of Embodied Empowerment and explore how to be more intentional in our actions while helping others so that we can inspire joyful learning and effective action.

Shifting your Focus: unique workshop with Roger Russell

This is a unique opportunity primarily for people who already have some experience of HANDLE® or Feldenkrais and wish to explore some of the ways the two approaches together can enrich our understanding of learning and well being.

This standalone workshop is designed to enhance your practical application and understanding of neurodevelopmental education and what enables us to learn, relating to your own life and the lives of the people you work with and care for.

Roger Russell is an expert in his field who has a skill for explaining neurodevelopment in an accessible way, whilst enabling you to experience the learning in your own body. This powerful combination will give you resources to take away and really run with!

We will explore:
-Refining our quality of attention to become more effective
-Learning to shift from habitual patterns such as switching off deep-set tension patterns and learning new habits around stress
-Deepening our practice of Gentle Enhancement® and the neuro-physiology behind it
-Making better use of Mental Rehearsal

Roger Russell is an exceptional and engaging presenter who will deliver this specially-developed presentation online in the morning from his office in Heidelberg, Germany. The workshop will continue with discussion and experiential application of Roger’s teaching with HANDLE Activities in an afternoon session facilitated by Sean Williams

Roger works as a senior Feldenkrais trainer, an approach which works, like HANDLE, to support learning and organisation of the nervous system through movement. He was trained 40 years ago by the founder Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, and is a founding sponsor of the Feldenkrais Science Network, an active researcher and author.

The workshop costs just £65 including lunch. Our venue is a modern studio just minutes walk from Brighton train station. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please contact us if you have any enquiries.
